Following the failure of petitions from householders for sewer pipes to drain Riley St (in the lane at the back of Little Norton St & in Harts Lane) expressing at length his disgust that despite advice from his alderman that a petition to Council would solve the problem, nothing was done and on questioning he was given excuses; in his postscript he remarks that his request for gravel on the path at his Albion St home has been ignored and, obviously, he will have to pay for this himself.
