(Note: 4/4/78 Mr Driver to Report: If the Council had carried out their part of the contract the course to be pursued would have been very simple - upon the neglect of the Contractors to proceed with all necessary dispatch it would be competent for the Council to take the contract into their own hands and complete the works at the cost of the Contractors. I gather however from the City Engineer that the delay on the part of the Contractors is partially caused by the non-delivery by the Council of a quantity of pipes and that being the case then in my opinion the Council cannot enforce the penalties provided by the Bond: RD;15/4/78)LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
