(Note: 21/11/88 Ack. City Surveyor: JH;20/11/88. The matter has been attended to but other works will be performed and the cause of probable nuisance entirely removed: RWR; 26/11/88. 576/88. Mr Murphy informs that the nuisance is as bad as ever, will the City Surveyor see into the matter: HJD; 6/2/89. The capstones required to be removed and circular gutter put down, also water connected to gully: GJL; 7/2/89. Write a memo to Mr Seymour informing that the nuisance is caused by the drawing of blood and other offensive matter from the butcher's shop immediately continguous. If the nuisance is continued advise to proceed as the law directs: RWR; 21/2/89. With reference to Mr Murphy's complaint re draining of blood etc. from the butchers shop therein mentioned I beg to state what accompanied by Mr Baker I inspected the place gave instructions for the drain to be sluiced and gave notice to the butcher to discontinue the evil complained of: RS;22/2/89.
