He is Chairman of Committee for raising funds for Norfolk Island whalers whose whale boats were damaged by a landslip at the Cascades. He asks that the Mayor will start a subscription. Attached is a letter from the NSW Governor, and a petition from the Committee signed by Byron Adams, T Pelham-Thorman, Ephraim Christian, John Young, F M Nobbs, Stephen Christian, Philip McCoy. £150 is needed and they hope that funds raised by the appeal will provide new equipment to enable the men to commence work anew next year.
