(Note: 19/6/93 Ack. To City Surveyor: HJD;19/6/93. This is a letter from Mr Robert Saunders and date 17th June inst submitting Bowral Trachyte as a material for paving footways. I think it very desirable to test the use of this stone as a footway pavement, and if it were laid two inches (2") thick and charged for at the same rate as Caithness I would recommend the Council admit it as a 1st Class material. There is no doubt if this stone were adopted a great colonial industry would be opened up.
