(Note: For City Surveyor's opinion: HJD; 30/6/93. This is a letter from the Redfern Municipal Council dated 21st June ulto: desiring to be informed whether the Sydney City Council has any objection to eletric wires being run along City Streets to private residences adjacent to their Boundary. The Council cannot legally give consent to this application as they themselves are not empowered to carry electric lighting provision over above or below the public ways of the City but in any case I do not consider it would be wise to grant the concessions asked for by the Redfern Municipal Council for reasons that have been before represented in dealing with applications of this character: RWR;25/7/93.
