The negatives were created by City Architect and Building Surveyors Department II (AG-0016).

The subjects included city conveniences (public toilets), car parks, swimming pools, Council flats (apartment buildings), site redevelopment and road widening. Also included were negatives of private buildings scheduled for demolition.

The documentation of buildings and sites was undertaken mainly to preserve the historical information of the affected sites and properties. When changes in department personnel took place this project was discontinued.

This series consists of two boxes of negatives. Each negative is housed in a wax paper envelope and assigned a specific number. Not all negatives are scanned and listed in the catalogue.
