Tenders were received from John Donaldson, Alex'r Fleming, Patrick Murphy, John Greer, Isaac Grenhilgh, John Cousley, Walter McLean and John Morris (recommended). The Government was withdrawing all convict labourers on the Water Works except for the two men at Lachlan Swamp. Committee recommended the appointment of a 'practical plumber', Mr Andrew Daer, as Superintendent, two men as turncocks and two free labourers to replace the convicts at Lachlan Swamp, one to be Mr W. B. Parker (if he is willing) to oversee another man.
