Joseph Brady calling attention to the state of the surface drainage in Bourke, Bay and Palmer Streets in Woolloomooloo. He suggests carrying the drainage from Bourke Street across Bay Street and thence in a direct line into the Bay. Edward Bell, City Engineer, recommends that a six course gutter be laid across Bay Street in order that during heavy storms the overflow may pass along Bourke Street towards the Bay.
