William D Bear, Superintendent of Fire Brigades. Asking to allow an iron bridge to be built across the gutter in front of the new Head Fire Station in Castlereagh Street. This is because of a mistake in laying out the foundations, the engine room has been kept up too high, so much so that it is impossible to get a steam fire engine out quickly without the chance of a serious accident.
