Mr Robertson had been declared elected one of the City Auditors of 1888, but was disqualified as he was employed by the Council at the time of his nomination. Carroll, as he was candidate next on the poll, claims to have been duly elected. He protests against the fresh election to take place on the 24th. There is a notation by the City Solicitor, Geo Merriman, that there must be a fresh election and if Carroll thinks he is entitled to the seat he might establish that in the Supreme Court.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
