(Note: City Surveyor: JH;21/9/88. Mr Dowe will you be good enough to make full inquiries concerning the right to occupy this portion of the so called street: RWR; 21/9/88. My minute of even date deals: RWR; 26/9/88. Separate 20/9/88 I Beattie letter Ack 26/9/88. Report attached: JD; 26/9/88. I am informed by Mr Lewis of the Land Titles office that the street referred to by Mr I & S Beattie was laid out in Coopers private sub division in the year 1840 but he is unable to say whether its a Public-way or not. Mr Reuss Senior informs me that he sold a block of land adjoining the reputed street but not with a frontage to it. I have also inspected the locality and find the Corporation have not expended any money on said street - nor is there any plan in this office to shew that the Corporation have any control of it - attached is a tracing shewing the subdivision: JD. This refers to a matter upon which I will be glad to consult with the City Solicitor: RWR; 26/9/88.
