Kindly let me know what is the ?intention of the City Surveyor in this matter: GF. This is a letter from Messrs Marchant and Coy. dated 30th May ult. complaining of the state of Moorgate Lane and requesting that action be taken to remove inconvenience, and damage caused to property in times of heavy rain. To remove the cause of this complaint I would respectfully suggest that the work of forming, ballasting and metalling, also laying kerb and gutter in Moorgate Lane from part formed northerly to Cooper Street be proceeded with at a cost of one hundred and sixty pounds (£160). The kerb and gutter already laid is of little use requiring completion as in time of heavy rains there is fully twelve (12") inches of slush upon the roadway: JD;2/6/92.
