(Note: For City Surveyor's information: HJD. Inspector of Pavements Is this so?: ?BSM;13/6/92. letter written copy sent ?report:12/6/92. In reply to the letter from the Water and Sewerage Board stating that the footway in Oxford Street has been attended to. I beg to state that I made a further inspection, and find that there are several flags broken and a great many with the corners off. These flags should have been redressed before being laid. On the whole the flagging has been very badly relaid. I would not think of passing such work for any contractor: WR;14/6/92. City Surveyor's office: This is a letter from the Water and Sewerage Board, dated 6th June inst: stating that the footway of Oxford Street, North side, from Bourke to Liverpool Streets imperfectly restored had been attended to. The report of the Inspector of Pavements under date 14 June inst: is forwarded herewith, and thereupon would respectfully suggest that the Board be informed in terms thereof requesting immediate reinstatement of this footway to the satisfaction of the Council)LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
