Large building on the right is the Government Savings Bank of NSW. The Rural Bank is at 48-56 Martin Place with Castlereagh Street crossing Martin Place on the far side of the building.
Martin Place was originally Martin Lane and ran from George Street to Pitt Street until widened in 1892 and became Martin Place. From Pitt Street to Castlereagh Street it was originally Moore Street and was renamed Martin Place in 1921.
