Street on the right is Hunter Street which finishes at George Street. At number 1 Martin Place is the General Post Office with the tower and clock facing onto Martin Place and at number 3 is the Commonwealth Bank on the corner of Pitt Street. Tall white building at the lower left is Wentworth Court at 62-66 Elizabeth Street and 157 Phillip Street. At the near end of Martin Place on the right at 48-56 is the Government Savings Bank of NSW and the Rural Bank and on the left is the Sun Newspaper building with a car park between the two. On the left is King Street which starts from the Darling Harbour wharves at Day Street. Cars are parked along the centre of Martin Place which was originally Martin Lane and ran from George Street to Pitt Street until widened in 1892 and became Martin Place. From Pitt Street to Castlereagh Street it was originally Moore Street and was renamed Martin Place in 1921.
