On the left is a Shell car park. Somerset House is on the left and at the far end in George Street is the Bank of New South Wales with the curved entrance on the right at 341 George Street and at 343 is the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney. Martin Place was originally Martin Lane and ran from George Street to Pitt Street until widened in 1892 and became Martin Place.
