Henry N. Montague pointing out the deplorable condition of a lane leading from Bourke Street at the side of his residence to Burrahpore Street. It is particularly bad in wet weather. He also draws attention to a row of iron tenaments in Burrapore Street which are mostly untenanted and were to have been pulled down some time since. Henry Graham, Health Officer, suggests that an injunction should be laid against the agent for the iron cottages 25/9/1861. Edward Bell, City Engineer, states that the lane requires a considerable amount of filling. ballasting and blinding with a good gutter down the centre. He estimates that the cost will not exceed £80.
