Charles Woolcott, Town Clerk, informing the Chairman of the Improvements Committee that, by a resolution of the Municipal Council of 30th ultimo, the Improvements Committee are instructed to reconsider their former estimate of the cost of certain works proposed to be carried out in John Street Pyrmont. City Engineer to report on this work. Edward Bell, City Engineer reports that he has taken out the quantities for the work comprised in the specification which contains more than the original estimate of £250. The wall at the end of the street is absolutely necessary to prevent the tides destroying the work. He estimates the cost of completing the work will not exceed £375.
