Ann Yorker, possessor of two properties set down as Nos. 396 and 621 asking why the water rates have risen from £1.10.0 and £2.0.0 respectively to £2.10.0 and £3.5.0 respectivley. She has had no water laid on to the sewerage having been in the habit of throwing all dirty water into it for the purpose of cleansing it. Referred to the Water Committee where the City Engineer is instructed to report. Edward Bell, City Engineer, responds that these two bonds Nos 396 and 621 have been increased by 20 shillings and 25 shillings respectively for water closets by order of the Water Committee of 5th April last and 2 October1861.
