Referring to an account rendered by Council for laying a 6 inch water main in Old South Head Road, they feel that it is unreasonable for the Council to ask the Department to pay the cost of the new pipes; they feel that they should be charged with the cost of removal and relaying only. There is a notation by J Trevor Jones, City Engineer, that he has revised the account and the Tramway Dept has been charged £7 per ton for new pipes but credited £6 for the old, and he has charged for the plumbers bills for altering private services.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
