A H McCullock, 121 Pitt Street. Objecting to the cost of stone flagging pavement laid for Thomas McCullock in Oxford Street in front of the London Chartered Bank at the corner of Burton Street. The work was done by the mason Sugden who had at one time been the contractor for paving to the Council. There is a notation from A C Mountain, City Surveyor that the charge was customary for the work done which was no more than necessary. This is also the conclusion of a report from the City Solicitor, George Merriman who has consulted with Mr Lyall, the contractor Sugden, Mr Morris the manager of the bank, Mr Gunning, and Collier, one of the men employed on the work. He recommends that the tenant be called upon to pay. There are two reports by R R Lyall, the Inspector of Pavements.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
