Instruction of March 1886 to count the number of public lamps lighted agrees with the number in registered and paid for. Not yet done, and recommend a suitable officer be appointed as Council relies upon the accuracy of the Gas Company. Notes: 1. to be done at once. 2. Clerk of Works advises only Mr Enright and James Morris have the necessary qualifications, need one in each ward, include those 2. 3. Appoint Enright and Morris and also C J Richards, W M Linlock, S N Burrows, J Merks, to /1 count lamps in respective wards /2 see they are lit and burn brightly /3 lamps are needed and give a reason if not needed.
