Unique IDA-00505410SeriesLetters Sent by the Mayor, 1843-1848Date27th July 1843Date qualifierexactFormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter number 59: Letter from John Hosking (Mayor, Office of the Mayor) to Chas Falconer (Manager, Bank of Australasia): In accordance with the annexed Copy of a City Council resolution, passed on 21st Instant, I beg to offer to the Bank of Australasia the Account of the Corporation. The terms alluded to in the resolution are that a temporary advance be made to the Corporation, to the extent of £3,000 if required, and that interest be charged by the Bank at the rate of 10 percent per annum on the daily balance overdrawn. Should you accept the Account on these conditions, you will be pleased to honor the Drafts of the City Treasurer, who is authorised to draw only under warrant of Councillors (as provided by the Act of incorporation) for such sums as required, under the amount before mentioned. Annotation - the following is a Copy of the resolution referred to: That the Right Worshipful the Mayor be authorised to open an Account on behalf of the City Council with one of the Banks to the amount of £3,000 and on the same terms as the account was opened with the Sydney Bank..LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYesBorn digital itemNo
