Unique IDA-00505450SeriesLetters Sent by the MayorDate28th June 1844FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from J R Wilshire (Mayor, Office of the Mayor) to J H Plunkett MC (Attorney General): With reference to the conversation which passed between us at Government House, some time since, respecting my naming to you any gentlemen who might, with propriety, be mentioned to His Excellency the Governor as eligible to be placed in the Commission of the Peace, I take the opportunity of suggesting that the following gentlemen might be named as fit and proper persons to have such an honor conferred upon them: Mr John Rose Holden of York Street, Mr Austin Forrest Wilshire of Chippendale, Mr Thomas Meare Smart of the South Head Road, Mr John Black of the Bank of New South Wales. In submitting these names, for your approval, I have been influenced by consideration of their standing and intelligence and, should I be instrumental in bringing them under the honorable notice of His Excellency, I shall feel much flattered thereby.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
