Unique IDA-00444771SeriesLetters Received from the Colonial SecretaryDate28th June 1852FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from Colonial Secretary referring to the Opening and Forming of Wynyard Square, transmitting an Extract from the Proceedings of the Executive Council respecting the General Principles relating to the expense of forming Streets opened through Crown Land, and advising that the Expense of Forming and Leveling (but not of Metaling) all new Streets opened through Crown Land in the City of Sydney will be borne by the Government as an appropriate Charge on Territorial Revenue; with respect to Wynyard Square it is advised that, although the Land in Old Barrack Square cannot strictly be viewed as Crown Property (having been made over to the Colony in Remuneration of the Expense incurred in Erecting Victoria Barracks) it partakes sufficiently of a Public character to justify Application of the above Principles to its Formation.
