(Note: City Surveyor: CHW. It is desirable that this portion of Upper Fort Street should be opened up to traffic. I find a plan for a proposed alignment already exists in the office prepared some years since, as shewing a building line in an unbroken direction from Clontarf Terrace (opp. the Flagstaff Reserve) to the foot of Caraher's Steps. I recommend that the street be aligned in the usual way to the lines shewn by this plan and that the land required for this purpose be valued, and compensation paid accordingly, after the various titles have been submitted to the City Solicitor.
