On Wednesday 10th February two consignments of cattle were sold on the Hunter River Steam Companies premises, which are not licensed for the sale of cattle: 10 head from Donohue Newcastle to Brown Brothers, and 7 head Armstrong to Tate Brothers. There is a note by the City solicitor, Geo Merriman that as the cattle arrived by sea and do not exceed 50 in number, then 133 Section of the Corporation Act does not apply and no prosecution can take place.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
