Unique IDA-01199033SeriesLetters Sent, 1842-1900Date5th December 1844Date qualifierexactFormatVolume - Letterpress CopybookDescriptionInforming the City Treasuerer that at a meeting of Council on the 4th December 1844 a resolution was carried requesting statements be brought before Council regarding, 1 - Whether there was any money credited to the Police Fund with the Treasurer on the 2nd of August 1844. 2 - The ammount of money paid to Police from the 2nd of August to the 1st of December, by whose order, under what circumstance and from where. 3 - Ammount due and unpaid for Police Rates, the names of the Collectors of Rates and the number of Citizens in arrears. 4 - The number of warrants issued from 2nd of August, who they have been issued, for what reason, how much has been paid and whether it has been kept under a different account. 5 - Who audited these accounts for the Years 1843 and 1844, was there any vacancies and if so who filled them. 6 - Whether the Treasurer submitted reports to the auditors and were any account books for the years 1843 and 1844 examined amd certified. 7 - An account of all sums accrued by the Corporoation since its begining until the 2nd of December 1844 showing which account these sums reside and if there is any ammount still in arrears with the names of those still indebted and show if such moneys be from fees, fines or penalties.
