New 10 years lease on 1. 6. 1949 continues at same rate, after 10 years rental continue on a quarterly basis at rental of 1-/ per quarter. On 7. 10. 1955 an other 5 year lease was added. Resolution of Council gives approval to retain whole area including Maybanke Hall by Council for Playground purpose and negotiates long term lease or acquisition. Acceptance of lower area between Harris Street and retaining wall as a gift from Colonial Sugar Refinery Company. Plan S7A-143/99 re dedication of "Maybanke".
