Council appointed trustees under Public Park Acts 1902 (vide Acts 27.1908). As area of 5. 2. 9p is exclusive of Watson's Road Reserve and Observatory site include some area as a children's playground. Also area of 13 1/2p occupied by the Commonwealth Weather Bureau proposed revocation DF 1705/31; TC 1457/18 Plan S4-53/2. Area 5 3/4 p of 13 1/2p is occupied by the Commonwealth Weather Bureau Plan G1-46, S4-53, and on advised of acting City Solicitor reminding area of 7 3/4 is removed from council control as long as it is used for the Weather Bureau (Vide City Solicitor opinions). Also Council approved South African Soldiers Memorial site to the north of the Observatory. Area of 4 1/4 form part of 13p (Gazette 1261942, folio 1887) is used for Public School purpose TC 4533/39; DF 2440/36. Resolution of Council subject to approval of the Minister for Lands the Education Department on New South Wales be granted a lease for period of 5 years at a rental of 1/-per annum subject to condition. Also a Resolution of Council subject to the approval of the Minister for Lands the Education Department on New South Wales be granted a lease of area approx. 25' x 15' for period of 3 years at rental of 10 cents per annum for purpose to erect 2 demountable type of class room, for Forth Street Girls High School. Granting to provide underground power to Sydney Observatory and approval further lease to Department of Education. Also council accepting a responsibility for carrying out of maintenance to additional area. Total area: 5a, 3r, 15 per. ; 5a,2r, 9 per. ; 5 3/4 per. ; 5a,2a, 3 1/4 per. ; 7 3/4 per. ; 5r,1a, 35 1/5 per. ; 2r 4 1/4 per. ; 4a, 3r, 31 1/4 per.
