In reply, the intention of the report referred to was not to find fault with the Company for being obliged to raise charges but to explain that the increase would require estimates for lighting to be nearly doubled. Should the Directors consider themselves aggrieved, there is no impediment to them forwarding copies of letters to the Legislative Council with such explanations as deemed necessary.
