Approval having been given for use of the quarry at Pennant Hills, to provide a constant supply of blue metal for the Streets, a large quantity will soon be deposited on the Wharf; the duties which devolve with reference to Sewerage and Water will require a larger space for deposit of the requisite machinery and materials required for carrying out those duties. As the land to the South of the present Grant, as far as the Patent Slip, is vacant and in an unimproved state, an extension will allow the Commissioners to take immediate steps for forming permanent Wharfs with sufficient depth of water to accommodate vessels of considerable burthen.
