By agreement between the Minister of Police and the Council, control of parking enforcement in the whole City area transferred from the NSW Police Service to the City Council with effect from 17 September 2001. Since 1993 the City had complete control of parking in the Pyrmont/Ultimo area but not rhe Central Business District.CreationSydney Corporation Act 1934 (as amended) s365 (1) (rr): power to make bylaws to regulate parking stations.
Local Government Act 1919 (amended 1955): s270A et al (Division 13A). Authority to regulate parking generally, including stablishment of a Parking Advisory Committee and installation of parking meters.
