The council oversaw the decoration and illumination of buildings, parks and streets, including Hyde Park, to mark this visit. Pavilions at each of the park’s main entrances were decorated with greenery and festoons of light, and surmounted by a large eagle finial. This view shows the Park Street entrance to Hyde Park.
