Enclosed verandah has a rolled canvas blind and both windows have lace curtains. Separated from a wide, unsurfaced footpath by a neat picket fence, with a telegraph pole to right. A wooden barricade with a kerosene lamp attached is intended to bar access to a roughly surfaced laneway, down which a horse and cart approaches. A young girl wearing a hat stands left of picture and a boy waits on the sandstone kerbing. Park Street became Mallett Street.
