Below turret is a carved sandstone mount containing a clock underneath which is engraved L. Macquarie Esq Governor 1817. Massive sandstone wall has double pike and rail gates and a square arched side entrance to guardhouse on which a brass plaque reads Registrars Office. Opposite on another gate entrance is a brass plaque reading Public Offices of the Master of Lunacy. Curved sandstone kerbing with pike and rail iron fencing encloses a garden with various shrubs and trees. Peppercorn trees overhang entrance right and surfaced roadway.
