Receive instructions etc prepare legal proceedings etc for the Surveyor of Buildings, the Inspector of Nuisances and Hackney Carriages, the Clerk of the Markets and for breaches of various local acts 4. attend at the Police Office and conduct all cases for the Council 5. Prepare warrants of distress, letters of demand etc, take proceedings 6. prepare conditions of sale and bonds for City property 7. advise generally; prepare By Laws; attend meetings when summoned; give opinions. He further states that he has prepared this year 45 clauses of the Corporation Act relating to sanitary reform. He includes a summary of work performed in the current year: about 50 bonds; advising Mr Stubbs then drawing about 100 informations, attending Police Office, drawing distress warrants or commitments; similar actions performed for Mr Golden and the Clerk of the George St Markets; writing more than one hundred letters of demand for building fees etc; preparing and engrossing opinions; writing letters to accompany bonds and other documents.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
