(Note: Urgent City Surveyor. Uther & Waterloo Sts. The Inspector of Pavements has reported that this pavement is excellently laid: the only complaint is the great steepness of the ground at this corner. This can only be obviated by allowing the proprietor of the corner shop to have a level landing on the footway at his entrance, which would give a "step" in the footpath of Uther Street...thus (with sketch).
