(Note: Report from the City Architect: JY. CE Jeanerett to take over contract - from Mr Nutman. Since resuming my duties as City Architect I have had to complain that Mr Nutman had not completed his contract; and notified him to that effect - On the 5th instant I was on the eve of reporting to the Council, advising that his surieties be called upon to fulfil the contract in question, when Mr Nutman waited on me, and said he was prepared to complete if I would point out what was required, the request was complied with on the 8- instant but nothing has been done up to date - I therefore am of opinion that sufficient latitude has been allowed Mr Nutman, and that the Council should now call upon his sureties to fulfil the terms of contract - I think (subject to the opinion of the City Solicitor) this is the proper course to pursue before recognising Mr Jeannerett as the Contractor: CA; 15/4/86. The proper course to pursue will be for Mr Jeannerett to obtain from Nutman an assignment of the contract & then the Council can treat with Jeannerett as the principal: GM; 19/4/86. Carried.
