(Note: Inspector Gordon for report: CHW. I have the honor to report with reference to my letter to Mr Warden Harry Graves that on Monday the 5th of April Mr Alderman Playfair asked me if any difference existed in the marbles used for drawing for places of sales, as an Agent informed him that some of the marbles were larger than others and therefore it might be possible that a small or large marble could be drawn out for any particular agent. I asked him who the agent was and his reply was Mr Graves, some few minutes after Mr Graves handed me a letter, saying read this Mr Gordon as I do not wish to be misunderstood in this matter I read the letter and from it infered that I had by reason of their being small and large marbles given some agent an advantage over others. No person is allowed to draw any marble out of the basket but myself.
