The streets on the route of the Ocean Street Cable Tramway Line were not watered last Saturday, and as there was a high wind, the dust made travelling in the trams uncomfortabe. Attached is a report by Richard Seymour, Inspector of Nuisances: the streets were well watered, and the dust came from further away. Attached is a report from R W Richards, City Surveyor: tram traffic occasions a great deal more dust than ordinary vehicular traffic, perhaps consider cancelling the road watering contract.
