James Robertson, public accountant, Couller & Robertson Accountants, Wynyard Chambers. This is a report on the special audit in connection with the Homebush Cattle Yard Department. The working of the yards has rested chiefly with the present inspector who has held office from November 1882 when the yards were first opened. He did not have any experience with bookkeeping and instituted his own system which indicates that he endeavoured to keep correctly. He has kept a record of the number of cattle passing through, but not of sheep. Attached is a list of tolls and dues received each month since November 1882 for Homebush and Sydney yards totalling £38534.18.8, and an account for Robertson's fee of £52.10.0.
