Begg & Son, Change Ally, Circular Quay. They want City Water laid on to their tannery at Glenmore Road Paddington, extending in to Harris St about 160 feet. At present the main terminates at the corner of Elizabeth St and Sutherland Lane. They would probably use about 30,000 gallons weekly. There is a report by J Trevor Jones, City Engineer that the water will come from the Woollahra Reservoir and it would be a serious draft on the present pumping power. The council has sanctioned the laying of a 15 inch trunk main to pass close to these works. If it can't be delayed it will cost £30.0.0. When the trunk main is laid, reconnection to that branch will relieve the Woollahra reservoir system.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
