They have suffered for a long time, great annoyance from the smells, smoke & soot which come from the Coffee Palace at their rear in George Street. There is a report by R Seymour, the Inspector of Nuisances, that he and Mr Baker called on the manager of the Coffee Palace on 23rd December,and told him to raise his chimney to a height above the premises of Roberts Chalmers & Co, but he was unable to do so until recently because of the holidays.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
