J C Stretton, 36 Clarence Street. Complains about the ill-kept state of Clarence Street from Erskine to Margaret Streets where 'straw chaff newspapers etc are all day wafted up and down the street'. There is a report by Richard Seymour the Inspector of Nuisances that the street is swept three times a week at night on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and that the nuisance arises from people in the locality sweeping dust and rubbish into the gutters.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
