(Note: The tracing enclosed herein shews the southern transverse lane between Phillip & Elizabeth Streets. The object of the Town Clerk's letter of the 23rd ultimo was to obtain the line laid down by the Government of the northern lane which runs transversely between Elizabeth & Phillip Sts at the rear of Ebsworth's stores. We have always understood that the allotments on which Mort and Ebsworth 's stores are built were 90 feet deep - with a 16 foot lane in the rear. This lane appears to haave been built over; and there is merely an opening left at a distance of about 135 feet from the front of Ebsworth's stores through two allotments which appear to have been sold to Robert Campbell: EG; 13/3/65.
