(Note: 4/7/87 Ack. City Surveyor. Provided that the temporary footway be limited to the width of (4) four feet and that this width is bounded by a line parallel to the kerb as is usual under these circumstances I can recommend that this application be granted subject to the usual conditions and requirements of this Department. The extent of temporary footway I have shewn on sketch by a dotted Red Line: RWR; 4/7/87) Letter dated July 5 from C Mayes follows replying to the acknowledgement and requiring consent urgently as he cannot proceed with the gantry until consent is given and is required for the contract period of 15 months from 1/7 advising there will be no change to the width of Bent St. (Note: this letter has reference to a former application made by Mr Mayes for a certain width of the carriageway of Bent & Macquarie Streets to facilitate works in connection with taking down and re-erecting a building for public purposes. I have inspected the locality and after being furnished by the applicant with fuller information I reommended that the permit be issued in accordance with sketch save that the temporary footway be only 4 feet wide. Subject to the usual conditions and regulations.
