(Note: This is a complaint from Mr Thomas about the nuisance and danger that arises from blasting operations carried on by the contractor for sewerage works in Kent Street. Under instruction from His Worship the Mayor a license to blast within the City was issued to Mr Rochester on the 28th June 1887 since which several similar complaints have been made. The contractor Mr J J Rochester is liable by conditions of license for all damage or accidents that may occur during the progress of the work and provision is made for the license to be cancelled at any time should the Mayor deem it expedient.
