(Note: National Hotel. This is an application to plaster and ornament the front of premises No. 392 George Street which is an encroachment on the foot-way to the extent of 2 feet. The building referred to is substantially constructed of stone and in an excellent state of repair, the walls are perfectly sound and in good condition. The present front is very plain and without any ornamentation whatever. The applicant proposes to cement the walls, form architraves and cornices round the windows with string courses, pilasters, new balustrade on top etc. but not to make any alterations to the building whatever.
